The 86th Academy Award Ceremony took place on March 2nd, 2014. Since “The Wizard of Oz” was celebrating its 75th anniversary that year, The Academy dedicated a portion of the ceremony to the film’s legacy. To open the Oz portion of the show, EGOT winner, Whoopi Goldberg took to the stage in custom, ruby-red heels, to acknowledge Judy Garland’s family in attendance.
