DIY Snake Cage

The blue racer snake, an endangered species within Ontario and only found on Pelee Island within Canada, uses open habitats with cover objects such as logs or brush piles to thermoregulate, forage, nest, move through the landscape and seek refuge. On Pelee Island, these spaces have been greatly reduced, and to address the threat of habitat loss, staff from Ontario Nature have been working to restore these spaces for the blue racer and many other rare species found on Stone Road Alvar Nature Rese
