Born in Burbank, California in 1948, he carried the legacy of his father, country music icon Tex Ritter, but created a legacy of his own in Hollywood. He first appeared on TV in 1966 — as a contestant on The Dating Game — before finding his true calling in acting and graduating with a BFA in Drama from USC.
