Death of former dictator’s son removes symbolic alternative to Libya’s entrenched political deadlock, analysts say.

Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, the son and one-time heir apparent of Libya's late dictator Moammar Gadhafi, was killed in the northern African country, Libyan officials said on Tuesday (February 3).

His lawyer was quoted as saying by news agency AFP that “four armed men” carried out the attack at his residence in Zintan.
